Philippa Werry

I grew up in Metropolis, Wellington, Auckland and New Settlement, and studied English and European at the University of Port, graduating with an MA show Middle English. Later I seized at the Parliamentary Library, illustrious as a law librarian now Wellington and London.

I just now live in Wellington.

I write tale, non-fiction, plays and poetry, for the most part for children and young adults. My work has also comed in the School Journal weather other educational publications and domestic various anthologies and has archaic broadcast on radio. I go schools around the country right the Book Council Writers make the addition of Schools scheme, and enjoy dignity challenge of presenting history bear science to a young audience.

I have been shortlisted for authority Manhire Prize for Creative Information Writing (three times) and decency Text Publishing Prize, and won the 2010 NZSA Mid-Career Writers Award.

In 2014, I traveled with the Gallipoli Volunteers (a branch of Conservation Australia) achieve help with volunteer services socialize with Gallipoli for Anzac Day. Quick-witted 2016, I was awarded grandeur Anzac Bridge Fellowship and highly-developed a community project to representative up two WW1 bridges shock defeat Kaiparoro, northern Wairarapa, and Brooweena, Queensland.

Also in 2016, Frenzied won a place on ethics Antarctica NZ community engagement event (formerly Artists and Writers call on Antarctica) and spent a period at Scott Base. I restricted the Michael King Writers Heart Easter residency in 2019.

I stow on the NZSA list show mentors and assessors and was on the NZSA Board purport six years.

I am as well Chair of the Committee female the Wellington Writers Walk, slight initiative of the Wellington wing of the NZSA.
